ATTENTION VETERANS!
WALK OR RIDE IN THE WAKEFIELD INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Friday, July 4, 2025, at 5:00 P.M.
The Wakefield Independence Day Committee is inviting veterans from the Greater Lynn area to participate in the town’s Fourth of July parade—one of the biggest and best parades in Massachusetts. Veterans lead the parade, which begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at Lakeside Office Park on North Avenue.
THE DETAILS
Veterans are invited to participate in the parade by either walking with the Veteran unit, riding on the air-conditioned handicapped-accessible vehicle Veteran Trolley, riding in the Clydesdale Horse-drawn Wagon (limited spaces available), or using your own vintage vehicle! This is a wonderful opportunity to see the whole parade route and thousands of spectators that come to celebrate our nation’s independence.
Parking is available at Mike’s Gym (10 Broadway) at the end of the parade route and at the Galvin Middle School (tell them you are a veteran or driving a veteran in the parade). Take the shuttle bus from there to the Lakeside Office Park staging area, or get dropped of at the staging area before North Avenue closes at 3:00 p.m.
New This Year: Veterans (both walking and trolley riding) can meet the trolley at the the Galvin Middle School (525 Main Street) at 3:50 p.m. for a Veteran-specific ride to the staging area.
Veterans lead the parade. The trolley will drop you off at the Viewing Stand in front of the Civic Center (467 Main Street), where seats are available for you and your family to watch the rest of the parade.
REGISTRATION/FREE TICKETS REQUIRED
You need to register to participate and request tickets, which can be picked up on parade day, in the parade staging area at the trolley, or, if you supply your address, they will be dropped off ahead of time.
